Díky
intenzivnímu rozvoji místních drah (lokálek) na přelomu 19. a
20. století disponuje dnes Česká republika jednou z nejhustších
železničních sítí na světě, která se však od vzniku
samostatného státu v roce 1918 dále nerozvíjí. Od sedmdesátých
let minulého století převažuje trend rušení a likvidace
regionálních železnic. Proč? Na tuto otázku hledá film odpověď
prostřednictvím odborné i laické veřejnosti, prostor dostávají
také zástupci státu, krajů a municipality.
Thanks
to the intensive development of local railways at the turn of the
19th and 20th centuries, the Czech Republic now has one of the
densest railway networks in the world, which, however, has not
developed further since the establishment of an independent state in
1918. Since the 1970s, the trend of disrupting and liquidating
regional railways has prevailed. Why? The film seeks an answer to
this question through the professional and lay public, and
representatives of the state, regions and municipalities are also
given space.
